As Vice-President of the Associated Students of Washington State University, I have had the privilege of serving as the chair of the senate, overseeing an executive staff of 14, developing a legislative agenda that lobbies for student needs, sitting on admin search committees, as well as working with admin to make sure students' voices are heard and their priorities are addressed.In this role, I have led the student government in advocating for the needs of over 18,000 undergraduate students at Washington State University. As an ASWSU Senator representing the Carson College of Business, I had the opportunity to serve as Chair of both the ASWSU Senate Engagement Committee and the ASWSU Senate Budget Council. In these roles, I was responsible for helping set the ~$450,000 senate programming request, ensuring that student needs were met in the most effective and efficient manner.Throughout my time on the 51st and 52nd Senate, I represented the interests of the Carson College of Business and worked with Dean Chip Hunter to pass legislation that established the CCB Dean's Council. This initiative aimed to provide student feedback to high-level administration, with the goal of increasing student involvement and engagement throughout the college.Recently, I authored and passed legislation that will provide fentanyl test strips, free of charge, to student organization on campus. This initiative aims to create a safer community on campus and builds on a similar initiative that provides Naloxone to student organizations. Through my work with ASWSU, I developed valuable skills in leadership, strategic planning, public speaking, and financial management. I am proud to have represented the Carson College of Business on the ASWSU Senate and to have contributed to positive changes that benefit students. Show less

As Head Sailing Instructor at Thousand Island Park Yacht Club, I had the privilege of leading a team of instructors in providing exceptional sailing instruction to club members. In this role, I maintained constant communication with the board, ensuring that daily operations aligned with the club's mission statement. In addition to managing daily operations, I also created, piloted, and implemented a brand-new sailing program. Throughout this process, I collaborated closely with the board, as well as the boards of other clubs within our region, to ensure that the program was effective and met the needs of our members. As the supervisor of 5 paid staff members, I took pride in overseeing their development and providing guidance and support to help them excel in their roles. I also supervised the development of 5 instructors in-training, ensuring that they received the training and support necessary to become effective instructors. Through this role, I developed valuable skills in communication, leadership, program development, and staff supervision.
