I currently work in the Multiphysics Modeling and Simulation group, in the R&D project with Shell entitled Characterization and Modeling of Preferential Flow Paths in Pre-Salt Reservoirs Using Shear Waves, led by Prof. Deane Roehl. In this project, I have been working on the development of isotropic and anisotropic rock physics workflows to be applied to pre-salt carbonate reservoirs. Moreover, I investigate the chemical, mechanical and physical effects of interactions between carbonate rocks and acidic CO2 solutions through experimental tests. From 2018 to 2020, in the same group, I was part of the project Coupled Geomechanics, still under the coordination of Prof. Deane Roehl, in which I also investigated the degradation of carbonate rocks by CO2 solutions. I am also a member of the academic collaboration project between PUC-Rio and TU Dresden, in Germany, whose title is “Mechanics of strain hardening cementitious composites under high strain rates and multi-axial loads”. The project is led in Brazil by Prof. Flávio Silva and is financed by CAPES and DAAD (PROBRAL). In addition, I participate in the research project Cientista do Nosso Estado (2019) from Prof. Deane Roehl - Multiscale and multiphysics modeling of damage and fracture in almost fragile materials. Since 2016 I have co-supervised undergraduate, MSc. and PhD students on areas related to cementitious composites, concrete durability and rock-fluid interaction, with emphasis on laboratory tests and the application of machine learning techniques. During this time, I worked in collaboration with Prof. Flavio Silva and Prof. Deane Roehl, co-supervising undergraduate and MSc. students. I received a scholarship from CAPES as part of the Academic Cooperation Network on Structural Durability project, coordinated by Prof. Deane Roehl (PROCAD 2013). In this project, I co-supervised two undergraduate students (Beatriz dos Santos and Amanda Loureiro) on topics related to cement paste shrinkage. I worked on my thesis Electrochemical lithium migation to mitigate alkali-silica reaction in existing concrete structures, under the supervision of Prof. Rob Polder and Dr. Oguzhan Copuroglu. This thesis was part of the Integral Solutions for Sustainable Constructions (IS2C) program, funded by STW (Dutch foundation for the promotion of technology).
