I identified, collected, cleaned and analyzed structured data on immigrant and minority national identity, then employed advanced multivariate statistical analysis & data visualization in R to critically evaluate patterns and effectively present macro policy implications. In order to test my hypothesis, I constructed a novel qualitative data set of over 100 government policies on cultural restrictions, by gathering data from dozens of primary and secondary unstructured data sources. I developed a typology, and then categorized & coded this information to transform the data into quantitative form for statistical analysis. In the course of my degree program, I drafted over 20 grant applications to fund my research, and raised $12,000 in funds. These resources supported 2 research trips to Istanbul, Turkey, where I conducted 20 semi-structured in-depth interviews with Kurdish individuals. I was also awarded $40,500 for 12 months of tuition & stipend support from the U.S. Department of Education Foreign Language Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship program to receive language training in Turkish at The Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I continued my training through an intensive language program at Bosphorous University in Istanbul, Turkey. I have presented 4 single-authored research papers at 4 professional political science conferences, and won the Ohio State Best Conference Paper award in fall 2018. I regularly present my research at OSU workshops and seminars. I am the recipient of the OSU Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences Fellowship, as well as an OSU Distinguished University Fellowship.

Our team partnered with 4 university stakeholder organizations to share knowledge, identify objectives, and ensure project alignment with these goals. I gathered performance metrics for peer organizations, identified best practices, and set targets for improvement. I navigated bureaucratic regulations to meet stringent data privacy requirements. Our team piloted, marketed, and fielded the survey through Qualtrics, with an 80% response rate. I synthesized complex quantitative and qualitative survey data, translating numbers into clear insights with actionable recommendations. Finally, we compiled a 20-page report to efficiently and effectively share key findings, appropriate benchmarks, and actionable next steps.
