I worked with Lenz Feupi for just under 2 years during my time as Head of Support Services at Psitek (Pty) Ltd. During that time Lenz was employed in the position of Field Support Engineer for Central and West Africa. He reported into the Regional Support Manager for Africa, who reported in to me. I put Lenz through a very rigorous process when interviewing and assessing him and am confident that he has the spatial, conceptual and verbal reasoning skills and critical thinking required for a driven, fast-paced technical environment. He also has a very effective EQ and Personality Profile, which makes him an excellent team player and colleague. I went through a considerable amount of effort with South African Home Affairs to recruit him over and above South African candidates, and this effort and cost was well worth it. From an academic point of view, not only does he have a BEng degree from his home country, he has also completed the BTech Elec. Eng in South Africa and has started his Masters Degree in Telecommunications. He is therefore well-qualified in terms of international telecommunications technology as well as being familiar with the unique requirements of Africa’s telecommunications industry. In terms of projects and initiatives he has worked on - there are many on his CV. However, what is not mentioned on the CV is that he also developed a good working knowledge of CDMA at device level on a project that Psitek pursued with the CDMA operator in Morocco. What is also not mentioned is the level of technical detail, investigation and implementation which his current job at Psitek requires of him. He currently lives in Cape Town but is originally from Gauteng and should have no problem relocating to any city (or country) where his services are required. Note also that he speaks French, which I have found is very advantageous when building relationships with customers in Central Africa. I can personally vouch for him in terms of his work ethic, interpersonal skills, professionalism, customer focus and also his ability to handle challenging and complex tasks. His pleasant and friendly demeanor also makes him a pleasure to work with and an excellent team player. I do believe that Lenz can add immediate value to any organization and that he has the potential to grow rapidly in any situation and make an immediate difference to any employer. I would not hesitate to re-employ Lenz should a vacancy arise in my current team.
