  • Performed extensive experimental work with fluids to determine optimum flow distribution profile in perforated pipe headers. Then, analyzed experimental data and participated in selection and retesting of optimum headers’ designs. • Participated in the operation and testing of the flow hydrodynamics in a pilot-scale packed column bed to determine the relationship between process variables such as the inlet fluid’s flow rate, inlet fluid’s temperature and pressure, axial pressure profile in the column, column height and packing material void space. Developed, with another engineer, corrected forms of Ergun’s equation based on dimensionless numbers (such as Reynolds number) that correlate the main process variables. • Participated in the set-up and operation of a two-phase gravimetric separator to demonstrate process design changes. • Organized a “Lunch & Learn” seminar given by Sulzer Chemtech on “Distillation Tray Design and Hydrodynamics” where several mass transfer products were showcased Show less
