      Responsible for the maintenance, calibration and repair of a broad spectrum of medical electronic devices, many of which are highly specialised, complex and technologically advanced, requiring in depth knowledge of current engineering techniques. I maintain and manage the process of a Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant delivering 45 million litres of Ultra-water per year for intravenous therapies to Dialysis Wards and Intensive Care Units within The Freeman Hospital. I manage quality of fluids for haemodialysis and related therapies in accordance with the RA Guideline i.e., BS ISO 23500. Carry out planned maintenance, repair, calibration and servicing of specialist medical equipment including Renal Dialysis equipment working alone as a field service engineer. Alongside this I am responsible for the maintenance of medical devices in the Northern Cancer Care Centre (NCCC). I commission new equipment using business plans and the procurement team and liaise with representatives from numerous renal suppliers I am involved in the training of clinical, medical and technical staff in the principles and use of medical devices. I take a lead role in major installations and source and manage cost of spares and consumables. I am responsible for planning the team rota and I work a 1 week in 4, 24hr On-call Rota. I developed an in-house training portfolio for the new employees as well as training new staff that come into the team. I appraise and supervise junior staff, offering on the job support and guidance. I attend multi-disciplinary meetings on a regular basis, offering advice and supporting the implementation of action plans. I am the secretary for ART and am part of the ART Education Group. I sit on the RCT / IPEM management committee as an ART representative.
