With my extensive background with machining technology and process improvement my role was to lead improvement in the machine shops through application of advanced technology, process improvement, and equipment optimization through state of the art 5-axis machines. Developed metrics to track lights out machining, helped to develop best practices for machine simulation and utilization. Worked with outside vendors to develop special cutting tools and including edge prep and coatings for machining aluminum , carbon fiber. I also would go into our large aerospace customers and help streamline their machining operations. Assisted in all equipment utilization and instrumental in driving improvements in all manufacturing operations. Theories such as designing for machining , optimized layer and color structuring to identify known machining operations were devolved at the design level. Unnecessary cutter path movements with optimized machining techniques , high level utilization of digital laser checking techniques were also incorporated into the post processors. Fast setups and multiple parts machined at the same time to increase unattended times were developed, documented and extensive training was conducted. Creating a culture of accountability, sustainability and empowering employees through multiple locations to achieve excellence.
