  • Transformed former Community Foundation of South Wood County into Incourage, a nationally recognized non-profit focused on inclusive community economic development. • Positioned Incourage to steer resident-led economic and cultural transition in response to globalization and corporate restructuring of paper industry from Central Wisconsin. • Created values-centered operating model, integrating core principles of equity, opportunity, and shared stewardship into governance and strategy. • Rallied support to achieve goal of “100% for Mission Impact,” on way to become nation’s first community foundation to align fully its investment portfolio with its place-based mission. • Invested in community’s capacity to identify common interests, create a shared vision, and pursue collective action through Advanced Leadership Institute and Blueprints for Tomorrow. • Fostered local-regional-national cooperation and partnerships among public agencies, private investors, and philanthropy to sustain and scale sustainable regional development. • Facilitated a ground-up, resident-centered strategy to build community information infrastructure, leveraging support from Knight Foundation and MIT Center for Civic Media. • Envisioned and executed Tribune Project, engaging 2,000+ residents in re-imagining and revitalizing former headquarters of region’s newspaper; recognized regionally and nationally for user-centered design in community economic development.
