I meet with and counsel current and prospective students on their financial aid options and guide them through the financial aid process. Specifically, I am responsible for our state grants, Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP), Work Study, and Verification Process. Part of my job also includes packaging new and returning undergraduate and graduate students, processing and making corrections to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), accessing the federal websites to inquire about students loan limits and federal requirements, and assisting in the Student Service Center when needed. The Student Service Center is responsible for taking payments and processing payment plans, making school IDs, processing add/drops, sending official and unofficial transcripts, and assisting students with any other questions they may have in regards to their schedule, bill, financial aid, etc. One of my favorite aspects of working in higher education is seeing students succeed. In addition to counseling students on their financial aid, I have quite proudly become a mentor to a number of students who trust to come to me for other personal and academic concerns they may have. I take it upon myself to advocate for the students. Show less

I work with financial advisors all over the country to assist families in applying to college and generating a financial plan to pay for college. I work in a service center in which I submit my clients' FAFSA, CSS Profile, supplemental financial aid forms, verification forms, evaluate and appeal award letters for all 4 years of college. We keep track of deadlines and make sure everything is done correctly and on time, to make a stressful time for the student and his or her family a little easier and grant them peace of mind.
