Katie is an incredibly hard working, positive, and creative public health professional. I would work with her again in an instant. Highly recommend her for anyone who wants to get things done.

Clarissa (Claire) Brown

It's rare that you come across someone as multi-talented as Katie. I first met Katie as an intern and was immediately impressed by her professionalism and skilled interaction with external stakeholders. She took time to talk with me about my professional goals and offered invaluable resume advice that helped me ultimately land a job working alongside her at the Food and Nutrition service. Katie and I worked in separate units for several years but ultimately, I had the opportunity to report to her while she served in a temporary management position. She entered the position without advance knowledge of the work our unit did and without previous formal management experience. Despite this, she excelled in the role and truly embodied every trait of a high-quality manager. She was supportive and attentive to my needs as an employee, never letting anything slip through the cracks despite a very full plate. She communicated openly with our team and showed a genuine interest in understanding our work. She was confident and decisive when asked to make a decision however, she also made sure to collect the relevant information before weighing-in. In addition to being a phenomenal manager, she's fun to spend time with and has a down-to-earth personality and great taste in restaurants. Katie's stint as my manager was temporary in nature which was a true loss for our unit. Any employee would be lucky to have Katie as a permanent manager and any company would gain an asset in hiring her. She earns my highest recommendation!
