  As Director of Education, I oversaw the Education Department and reported directly to the Director/CEO of the National Atomic Testing Museum. I was primarily in charge of scheduling and guiding group tours throughout the museum, finding speakers for the ongoing lecture series, supervising interns and volunteers, and organizing educational events for both students and adults. I also created many of the press releases and flyers for various museum events. I also assisted with the "Journal of the National Atomic Testing Museum," a bi-annual publication featuring personal stories and articles related to the Nevada Test Site.Responsibilities:- Coordinated and led group/school tours. - Supervised and trained interns and volunteers. - Planned and organized all educational events, including Family Fun Days and lectures. - Created fliers and press releases for museum events. - Performed community outreach and helped acquire items for museum raffles/auctions. - Managed Education Department budget. - Oversaw and contributed to the museum’s journal. - Represented the museum at conferences, such as those organized by the Western Museums Association and Nevada Museums Association. - Aided curator in exhibit planning and installation. - Provided content for museum’s Facebook page and other social media sites.
