  I studied how m-government services could be designed in a user-centric and inclusive fashion in the Namibian context. My thesis was part of the Fusion Grid project aiming to facilitate access to digital services in sparsely populated areas via lightweight solar-powered grids. I created two mobile service prototypes related to a) applying for an ID, and b) digital authentication (for accessing m-government services), and conducted interviews and usability testing with Namibian citizens in Windhoek in December 2018. Together with my thesis advisor Karin Fröhlich-Amukugo, we paid attention to conducting the research in an ethically sustainable manner – I was introduced to decolonised research practices in the Global South.
