Jeff seemed to know how to strike a balance between being micro- and disengaged management. Micro-managers are demotivating and laissez faire managers create uncertainty for a lack of feedback. He was on top of things but never pulled rank.

Jeff was my manager for 6 years at Spectra Logic and during that time I found him to be one of the best managers I have had in my career. Jeff was able to keep our team focused and efficient by keeping the interruptions and distractions of a agile environment from derailing current tasks. Jeff has a strong technical understanding and is able to quickly move from the high level requirements and design to the details of implementation and by doing so he was able to help our team to architect the best solutions. I would highly recommend Jeff for any technical management position, he is always customer focused while using best practices in software test and development methodologies to architect quality solutions and mitigate risk.
