  The cooperative adaptive cruise control (cACC) is able to communicate with other vehicles, enabling the automatic control of following distance and cruising speed of the vehicle. To apply feed-forward to the cACC-controller an algorithm is needed, capable of distinguishing and quantifying the different driving resistances. A simulation model to study truck platooning has been defined in MATLAB/Simulink SimMechanics. A method to quantify the driving resistances has been proposed.
