Executive Director
-
Jul 2015 - Jan 2021
Founded by Abigail E. Disney, Peace is Loud is a non-profit organization that sits at the intersection of storytelling and social impact. As Executive Director, I have overseen the organization through a period of substantial growth. Under my leadership we more than tripled the organization’s staffing and budget in less than three years, and positioned ourselves as thought leaders in the media impact field, recognized for our unique blend of storytelling and movement-building work. Notable film impact campaigns launched under my executive leadership, include: Knock Down the House (featuring Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez); The Hunting Ground; and the celebrated nine-part PBS series Women, War & Peace, which played a critical role in building constituent support for the eventual passage of the Women, Peace & Security Act of 2017.Other notable achievements have been the creation of a robust fee-for-service program that currently represents $500,000 in annual revenue, including an impact campaign service for documentary filmmakers, and the launch of the only speakers bureau for exclusively women human rights activists, representing Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee.
