  Co-developed a concept for a student residence that educates and encourages university students to live in an environmentally sustainable manner, while generating a return on investment. Guided project through the stages of purchasing land, designing the building, constructing the building, and attracting students to live there. The eighteen studio apartments are powered with solar panels and use solar heated water, and have a private window garden where students are encouraged to grow herbs and food plants. A large garden and vegetable patch provides an opportunity to become familiar with the natural world. The students are encouraged to take workshops and programs on basic concepts such as composting and recycling, as well as more advanced areas such as permaculture and the environmental effects of the chemicals in the products they purchase. The programs are designed to increase awareness, increase sensitisation and change the attitudes of the students in regards to the environmental impacts they create.

  Editor and main contributor to MocoNews, a sister publication of PaidContent. In this role I covered the mobile content sector as the publication of record, targeted at executives in the sector. This combined curating relevant news, conference coverage, exclusive interviews, analysis and financial reporting. Grew readership and renown of the site until the publications were purchased by Guardian Media Group. It was an exciting time to be reporting on mobile content as the industry was in its infancy different business models were competing. During this time the mobile content industry went from monophonic ringtones and Crazy Frog style subscription plans to the app-based model that has become the most important way to access online content. Along the way the handset manufacturers battled with the telecommunications companies and the platform providers for the loyalty and wallet of the consumer. The introduction of the iPhone was a seismic shift in the industry that caught most players off-guard.
