Covid-19 is a life-time opportunity for me to wear multiple hats as the lead of a young & hungry team with little manufacturing experience. Our objective is to figure the fastest way to commercialise ready IP on hand to face a mounting healthcare and supply chain crisis under siege - to figure out where to play, and how to win. The team rose to the challenge with record time EN:ISO 13485 accreditation. We setup the Lucence manufacturing facility and laid the robust roadmap for future medical device productisation. Lucence's ability to rapidly scale novel medical devices production allows us to navigate regulatory uncertainties of new products yet tap fleeting opportunities as they appear. We worked tirelessly to put these products out to the world including SAFER Inactivating Specimen Collection Kits and DeepMARK Next Generation Sequencing Kit. This episode (ongoing) is an unprecedented opportunity in the history of medical device companies. With Lucence, I have the privilege to work alongside some of the best in Singapore to rapidly scale, produce and commercialise technology and save lives. Show less

After successful entry of the Hong Kong market, it is managed by a committed team tasked with evangelizing access to precision medicine in modern care. I turn my focus to working alongside the commercial team in Singapore to roll out Lucence's tests in the R&D pipeline. The tests included Inherited Cancers Germline Testing and Nasopharyngeal Cancer Test using Epstein Barr Virus. We worked to expand commercial channels for screening services in this geographically small but immensely valuable market. Show less

    • Market Lead, Hong Kong
      • Apr 2018 - Jun 2019

The Hong Kong oncology market was a tough but a fair challenge. The objective was to setup a commercial presence within a city as the stepping board for northbound expansion into Greater China. I started the team with support from the Singapore office. We walked the ground for months and eventually penetrated the market to win the trust of users who are famously for being meticulous - the oncologists. This laid the ground work for a team to serve as supporting presence in East Asia.

Foundational work is laid to ensure commercial presence online, marketing and operational roadblocks were resolved to garner early adopters of this promising and life-saving technology. Lucence was founded in 2016 with the vision of solving the most complex diagnostic problems in medicine through the most innovative technology design possible. At Lucence, I work with a team of exceptional individuals committed to a single cause: to fight cancer. I manage the corporate sales wing of the business - analysing, prospecting and reaching out to the target segments. We pioneered the Kids Road Safety Program where children as young as 4 learn to drive and be responsible pedestrians via a real driving experience. I'm happy to announce that we have reached out to more than 50 institutions annually and have impacted more than 15,000 bubs till date. This program is currently partnered with AIG Limited as we push for safer road user knowledge for our next generation. Apart from product and corporate sales development, I am also involved with all digital marketing activities and creation within the company. It is important for a small company to "know where to fight, and how to win" , and therefore we looked very closely at strategising how we stretch the marketing budget on Google Adwords as well as various other online marketing channels o that we increase the quality of our onsite traffic. The team works closely to ensure the monthly marketing initiatives are aligned to the monthly growth objectives and targets set by the management. As of March 2017, we have sold the company to a wedding planning firm to have the services integrated as part of their larger plans. I am currently pursuing interest in the area of Maker Education via Makedemy. Singapore Toy Club believes in Delivering Joy to every child we touch. Every kid should be themselves during their Big Day and that means, being full of smiles, laughter and anticipation for what the party brings - and that is Fun. Lots of them. This eliminates uncertainties facing both travelers such as not being able to book a good tour online, as well as tour operators facing high transaction costs handling B2C markets. NomadAsia's carefully curated list of operators, reinforced with social review system ensures high quality tours are always offered to everyone! NomadAsia alpha product is already launched and is in testing phase. Beyond the integral involvement in testing the hypothesis of the business model and idea, I'm also involved in the design of the website and feel. NomadAsia is actively seeking mentors and investors within the travel industry to have a good mental sparring and learn from each other. An avid explorer at heart, I love to travel and explore nooks and crannies of every city that I visit, packing bits of adventure wherever I go! Within the startup, my role was to push out and market our platform for General Practitioners and Private Medical Specialists to use for their clinical drug purchases. Heavily involved in the initial testing of market hypothesis, hitting the grounds and knocking door to door at hospitals to seek audience with doctors. Developed and executed customer acquisition strategy for getting user base as well as being the main designer for the team, creating all necessary artwork required for publishing. This multi-hatting of roles was extremely interesting and rewarding as it was integral to the challenge of running a startup company. Highs: 1. Co-created the MedF1.com from scratch, together with my co-founders, Toh Hong Pang and Ryan Teo. 2. Partnered with a clinical chain transacting over 100k of drug purchases in a single week. 3. Alarmed the Sales Manager of one of the biggest Pharmaceutical company in the world, that one of her most important clients are no longer interfacing with her sales representatives but with MedF1.com. Unboxs Solutions powers MedF1.com, an online drug procurement platform allowing doctors to manage their drug inventory and ordering process all in one place. Unboxs Solutions believed that Doctors, Nurses and Clinical Assistants should devote their effort to the healthcare service of patients in their clinic. MedF1 replaces the need for clinics to manually call up pharmaceutical companies every week for drug replenishments so that both time and resource is better spent serving patients. The clinic-specific drug pricing and spending analysis of MedF1 helps clinics to be on top of new drug inventories that are introduced to market in the highly competitive pharmaceutical industry. http://www.MedF1.com/ Show less
