Regional commercial turf fertilizer manufacturer and distributor. We distribute professional lawn fertilizers, salt, control products and turf equipment in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Kentucky. I was involved in all aspects of sales, operations and distribution/logistics.I was responsible for sales and service of Turfco T-3000 Spreader-Sprayers and XT-5 Areators. Negotiated a 15% lower freight rate with a major LTL carrier. I also researched suppliers and brought on a new line of lime and gypsum. I also started a revenue generating recycling program. Our sales growth has ranged from 5% to 25% over the last 5 years.

Taught Math, Algebra and Social Studies- I designed, created and implemented 3 to 4 lesson plans every day for approximately 130 students ranging from Geography to Advanced Algebra for middle school students. Also created tests and daily homework.I was able to teach and engage all levels of learners. Our Principal Steve Dively showed me our students ISBE test scores that had dramatically increased from the previous year before I started. But it was not all my doing I was part of a team of math teachers.I also tried to encourage middle school girls to explore and excel in Math/Algebra that it should not be a stereotype that only boys could be good at math.My Daughter wound up being #2 in her high school class and will graduate with 2 College degrees Suma cum Laude. So I practice what I preach.

    • Regional Sales Manager
      • Jan 2001 - Sep 2005

Sold TGIC free polyesther, super durable polyesters, hybrid and epoxy powder coatings to custom coater's job shop's , metal fabricators and OEM's. I had approximately 200 customers located in Northern Il. After downsizing my territory by 40% to make room for a new sales rep, I still increased sales volume by 30%, re-established 30 inactive accounts and added 20 new accounts. With customer input I helped develop many new products/colors and was consistently in the top 5 sales positions out of 25 salesmen located in the united States. As a side note I never changed my cell number from Tiger and kept it. I still get 2 to 3 calls a year 7 years later asking for powder coating samples, pricing, etc..because they do not know who their current sales rep is.

    • Midwest Regional Manager
      • Jan 1992 - Sep 1999

Sold iron oxide, chromium oxide and barytes filler pigments to the chemical, coatings, plastics , rubber, cosmetic, ink, and food industry. I managed a 10 state 12 million territory in the mid-west , had responsibility for 3 distributors and national account responsibility for several major paint companies such as Valspar.I also provided tech support to all of them too. 2 of my distributors were the companies largest and in 1995 I was awarded "supplier of the year" by one of the distributors. In 1994 I achieved the largest improved "Supplier Total Quality Rating" from the Valspar Corporation. I effectively reversed a decline in sales and averaged a 4 to 6 % increase in sales over a 3 year period.
