My daily duties consist of colour strength, pH as well as microbiological testing of products. I work closely with our NPD chemist trailing new formulations. Trouble shooting with the quality and technical managers when problems arise. Conducting validation studies, monitoring new raw materials along with shelf life studies also fall within my duties. I worked in the raw milk laboratory testing the quality of milk received straight from the farms. These tests included the following (but were not limited to); testing pH, freezing point, fat content. Following my exposure to the raw milk laboratory, I spent time in the microbiology department as well. Here I assisted in testing the microbial load of all the products made the day prior, conducted shelf life testing on products as well as did environment swabs.
