Master Thesis in Image Texture Synthesis. Abstract: In this thesis we investigate a new method on synthesizing stochastic and periodic textures. This is mostly based on the Parallel Patch Cut algorithm which is tweaked and extended for treating both periodic and stochastic textures. Moreover two gradient improvement methods are proposed, both for the exemplar and synthesized textures. The first one is based on Multiresolution Spline Matching and is mostly oriented to synthesized… Show more Master Thesis in Image Texture Synthesis. The implementation of this idea will provide a complete tool for texture treatment. Show less Master Thesis in Image Texture Synthesis. During my internship the main objective was to investigate the system requirements of engineering applications like Ansys Mechanical, Comsol, Fluent, etc. as well as scientific applications developed at CERN. In order to have a better overview of the scalability of these applications we received two new computing clusters. The provisioning of these servers was done using the facilities of the Agile Infrastructure project. Moreover we monitored the system requirements in a deeper level, which included tracing of MPI calls, on top of system wide metrics and analyzed the results with Matlab. At the end of my time at CERN I implemented a new job submission policy on a Windows HPC Cluster by creating filters, monitoring tools and job submission GUIs for some of the engineering applications. I was summer student at KLEEMAN SA which produces lifting systems. Our main objectives were to gain knowledge on a wide spectrum which varied from the hydraulic pump to to the electronics of the lift.
