It was originally created for co-op advertising between the Record Companies (Universal, Sony etc) and MFP who distributed CDs into major retail chains like OK Bazaars, Checkers, PicknPay, Game, Dion etc. After great success the agency was sought after to handle the advertising for other products within the retail outlets. One of those products was the cellular arm of the PicknPay business. Adworx managed the sale of prepaid sim cards and the cellular division of the stores. Adworx started with the Vodacom business and after a while the MTN business was added.
