Successfully executed 2 projects during my internship in this organization. The first project was a mini project named the "Baking for Change" with the aim to develop new skills in terms of learning the art of baking and decorating, utilizing their creativity by using different means and ways of putting ideas on how they would market their products (in this case, the baked goods), and helping them exercise their presentation skills. This project was also to inspire the socioeconomically challenged students to create more opportunities for themselves. We believe that the skills learnt in this project can be a stepping stone for students in the future. A total of 15 students between Year 4 and Year 6 from one of the primary schools in Brunei have participated. In this project, I was appointed as a leader where I am in charged of doing the paperwork (with the help from my team), delegating tasks to my team accordingly, and communicating with the Principal and his assistant on proposing the project to their school. The second project was "The Preloved Rack" which is a one-day fundraising event with the aim to raise funds for the socioeconomically challenged students by selling preloved clothes to the public. The objective of this project was to inspire and create awareness from public regarding poverty in Brunei, as well as to help socioeconomically challenged students improve their living conditions. In this project, I was appointed as Secretary where I am in charged of doing paperwork such as applying for doing public event through MOHA, contacting with vendors, creating an agreement form for vendors and sellers, making reports and minute of meetings. During the event, I am the Floor Manager where my task was making sure that the event ran smoothly, and checking all the logistics needed during the event were ready in place. Show less

I was exposed to the real working environment surrounding the three laws under the department's jurisdiction (the Competition Order, the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Order, and the Price Control Act). By understanding the department's objectives, I successfully completed a proposed research report titled "Evaluation on the implications of deregulating price control on powdered infant milk in Brunei Darussalam" and presented it to the department, which is also as part of the academic research while interning there. I also supported the team by analyzing the price trend of some essential food items and assisting them during advocacy sessions (my main tasks were taking pictures and promoting the Pengguna Bijak App).
