Sit with patients that needed 24 hour care. I would ensure their safety and provide what services I could to make them comfortable. Most of my work was done in the long term care center with patients that were getting ready to pass away. I would sit with them and make sure they were OK and comfortable as could be. I also would sit with mentally ill patients and insure their safety. I would have patients with many different needs, some were admitted for suicide attempts, some for drug use, others were there for surgery and needed extra care.I would fill out a chart every 15 minutes on the patients status and alert nursing staff of any problems that I needed help with.
