During my summer training with the Manufacturing Planning Department MPD, I got acquainted with the production process in the refinery in the form of inputs (crude oil), process (the various units of the refinery) and outputs (propane, butane, benzene, gasoline, diesel and sulfur). I also explored all aspects of planning and scheduling (Quality, quantity, commitments, inventory). Also, I worked with the economic optimization team and was acquainted with the various activities in the department, like balancing materials, developing the optimal production plan for operating the refinery and the monthly performance reports based on the principles of linear programming. I also worked for a short time with the operation excellence department OE, as the OE focuses on quality assurance. Some tasks I did : - Daily updating of the diesel projection - Developing a TAIDA methodology to manage the refinery inventory efficiently - Developing a plan to mitigate a possible shutdown in the future in one of the refinery’s units - Updating the commitments after an unexpected shutdown in the refinery - Suggesting projects that aim to reduce flaring in the refinery for environmental purposes - Documentation management system assessment Show less
