  Supervise officers' daily activities, respond to and assist on calls for service, monitor officers' on-going investigations and their overall performance, and prepare annual evaluations and reports of their performance.   The crimes against juveniles sergeant is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division - General Persons section for Chesterfield County Police. The crimes against juveniles section handles all cases involving crimes committed against a juvenile. These crimes include homicide, robbery, sexual assault, child pornography, and felonious assault. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the on-going investigations of the detectives, monitoring interviews of victims and witnesses, and interviews, interrogations and arrests of suspects, and meeting with Commonwealth Attorneys, defense attorneys, medical professionals, child welfare advocates, and members of other local, state, and federal agencies. Member of a multi-jurisdictional task force investigating child sexual exploitation. Member of the board for the Chesterfield CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate).

  Investigate crimes of homicide, sexual assault, bank robbery, robbery to the person, and felonious assault against both adults and children. I was assigned to the major case section from 2004 until 2006. In that section I investigated both cold case and recent complex homicides. Networking and building relationships with other agencies was vital in this assignment. Many cases crossed jurisdictional lines.
