EY Ukraine Transactions team served Sterling Grace in their contemplated acquisitions in Ukraine. Elena was managing the buy-side due diligence process on the Client's side. Elena has exceptional organisational and communication skills, which helped a lot in running the projects in the most efficient way. Elena always acts professionally and with respect to everybody. She is very energetic and passionate about her job and tasks, she likes to throw in new ideas, for example, how to identify or minimize deal issues. Finally, the projects we did for Elena were very interesting due to the percularities of the industries and targets involved. During my tenure as Regional FC for Eastern Europe with FRHI Group I worked closely with Elena and her team during pre-opening of the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kiev. The Hospitality labor market in Kiev did not have enough experienced candidates at that time, however Elena managed to select and build up very decent teams for the Finance/IT/Purchasing functions of the Hotel. No need to say that apart from Operations set up, Elena’s and her team role was critical in successful and timely opening of the Hotel. In my view they her teams did a great job under Elena’s management. During next two years when I was visiting the Hotel with internal semi-annual reviews I have observed continuous improvement in implementation of FRHI Internal policies and procedures. This was not an easy task considering some specific set up in relationship with Owning Company and not easy situation on the Hospitality market these days. It also needs to be mentioned that due to above mentioned reasons the Cash Flow management was very challenging daily exercise, which Elena dealt very successfully with. Apart from said above, in my opinion, she managed to build very good relations with everybody she worked with – Colleagues and peers, Corporate Office, Auditors and Owners of the Hotel. I consider that Elena’s personality, management style, her enthusiasm and dedication to all the matters she deals with would be very valuable qualities for any company she would work for.
