My role involved representing the Educational Psychology Service and Inclusion Support Service at multi agency meetings, panels and fora within Bromley and the wider context; contributing to the management of the Educational Psychology Service through reviewing, evaluating and updating policy, practice and development plans. As a senior psychologist I provided regular supervision, performance management and target setting for identified Educational Psychologists; to support with assessing, advising and recommending appropriate intervention for the needs of children and young people aged 0 – 25 years; completion of high quality statutory advice and the proof reading of reports; to ensure psychological advice that is effective, timely and meets standards set by legislation. I also devised, implemented, and evaluated training programmes for pupils, parents/carers school staff (e.g. training in SCERTS, ELSA, CBT, etc.) and other professionals and contributed to the development of efficient and effective interagency partnerships across statutory and voluntary services (currently chair of multi-agency autism working group).

I was responsible for clinical/field practice of trainee educational psychologists (TEP) on the Doctorate programme. This involved organisation of placement activities, supervision, teaching, modeling of key professional skills, monitoring of student progress and achievement, marking of placement portfolios and overseeing trainee certificate of competence in educational testing (British Psychological Society CCET qualification). This supported TEPs to apply practice frameworks and skills which are taught through problem analysis, observation, consultation, interviewing, functional assessment, test administration and interpretation, intervention planning, implementation and evaluation.
