When I went back to school to study graphic design, I met Don at a portfolio review. Lucky for me, he saw something in my student work that caught his eye and after an interview, he hired me to start my first design job. Right from the beginning, I realized Don was different from a lot of studio heads at that time: he shrugged off Print magazine awards in the humblest way! I was in awe of Don's innate talent and the way he handled client negotiations. He was also a mentor to me and had the patience to guide me through the many other aspects of being a good designer that have very little to do with design. Don is a people person. He listens carefully and can offer myriad solutions to any client's need.
