Quantifying river response to human-caused change through sediment deposition. Sediment transport can be used as an indicator for stream channel recovery after any type of disturbance, whether that be flooding, climate change, change in land use, dam alterations, etc. Sediment mobility can be quantified by tracking the rocks on the bed of the stream. In this study, we will track rocks tagged with RFID chips and investigate how the frequency of movement and the forces required to move rocks on the riverbed changes over time since the removal of dams at project sites Show less
