When I joined Carflex, I was one of the first new employees in a start-up environment. I did not have an automotive background but I was passionate about learning the technical side of the business to be able to rise into an operational role. In this Operations Manager position I gained a wealth of experience in the challenges faced by a start-up company, and in developing creative solutions to many types of problems. I was accountable for identifying and coordinating improvements to the daily flow at four shop locations. I led the screening and hiring process of seasonal and permanent staff at all locations, and worked closely with the co-founders and shop managers to prepare each location for seasonal fluctuations. I was also responsible for training new Service Advisors on multiple software programs, in sales and customer service techniques, and in technical aspects of vehicle repairs and maintenance. When Carflex welcomed a new shop to the growing team, I was responsible for the onboarding process. In this role, my responsibilities consistently adapted to the changing needs of the business.

I joined Carflex in it's early days at it's pilot shop in Guelph (Brock Road Garage Tirecraft). I was brought in to begin improving the customer experience of having a vehicle serviced by introducing new, convenient technologies and increasing the quality and standard of customer service. I began with little automotive background, and took the initiative to rapidly become well-informed about vehicle repairs and maintenance, as well as building lasting customer relationships. I worked closely with Carflex co-founders and the shop co-owner to improve the organization and flow of vehicles through the shop, and to increase the value of the Average Repair Order. I managed the flow of 35+ vehicles per day through four bays. I was responsible for building price estimates based on inspection results, and leading informed sales conversations with customers regarding repairs and maintenance (totals reaching up to $8,000+). I also managed parts returns, and handled phone calls and scheduling.

I provided friendly, knowledgable service at this authentic Italian restaurant. I passed the initial extensive wine knowledge and food pairing training with highly positive remarks from the owner. I provided friendly, knowledgable service at this authentic Italian restaurant. I provided friendly, knowledgable service while maximizing sales by upselling. I thrived under a consistently high degree of pressure in this busy restaurant environment and demonstrated strong conflict resolution skills with a variety of customers. At a new restaurant location, I led the training of a new team of servers on the POS system, sales, teamwork, and general operational efficiency.
