  World's #1 auction for vintage photographic cameras and prints.I built the auction's IT form zero to rule the world/Guinness Book of Records.I worked for the WestLicht Photographica Auction (now Leitz Photographica Auction, after Leica purchased it) in Vienna, since its birth in 2001, until a decade and a half later the most expensive Leica ever sold went under the hammer in front of my eyes for €2.4m, and got into the Guinness Book of Records.Later zu read Simon de Pury's The Auctioneer, which was both familiar waters and exiting discoveries, to which I can relate.If there is one lesson I learned at WestLicht, it is this—the collectors do not like to be told, they like to discover; the lot descriptions, therefore, are so minimalistic, that they are borderline cryptic.
