Mr. Cris Zomosa joined Promega as an analytic chemist in 2003, which is the same year I joined the company. Since then, we have worked together on various projects for new product development. Over these 15 years, Cris has proved his expertise and excellent skills on developing new analytical testing methods by fluorescence and absorbance spectroscopy, NMR, LC-MS, GC-MS, HRMS and HPLC. These test methods were critical to ensure screening new molecules for targeted functions and also assure the quality of new product realization. For example, he independently developed fluorescence methods that facilitated screening new dyes, including DNA, RNA and protein quantifications in solution. He also championed 2D fluorescence methods that allowed detecting contaminations of polymer gel effectively and guiding polymer manufacturing and its subsequent formulation to avoid cross contamination onsite. Not even mention that Cris has always supported RD’s routine needs for measuring fluorescence quantum yields, absorbance extinction coefficients, and fluorescence quenching experiments. In addition, Cris was a certified employee on Bruker administration, operation, and maintenance of 400MHz Bruker NMR spectrometer with cryo probe on a 2-year new instrument. Moreover, Cris also developed many new test methods involving HNMR, FNMR and PNMR quantification of the target molecules or critical material attributes. Most recently, Cris moved on to take full responsibility on analytical supports to Advanced Technologies Group for many aspects of research activities. Mr. Zomosa is a humble, warm and self-motivated person who is very easy to work with. He always worked very hard to get the tasks done quickly even if sometimes he had to stay late after work or came over the weekends. His efforts and contributions were highly appreciated by his many coworkers. Cris has a good communication skill, he communicated well with his coworkers no matter who were the internal coworkers at Promega Biosciences at San Luis Obispo or external coworkers at Promega Madison on a variety of projects for the progresses and/or challenges. Cris always gave very clear and logic presentations from scientific perspective, and I have no doubt on his credibility as an analytic scientist for his experimental design and data measurements. Therefore, I believe that Mr. Zomosa is a qualified senior analyst. His experiences and skills on various analytic instruments and test method development, his accountability and his great personality make him an excellent candidate for your position. Please feel free to contact me at any time for your consideration on Cris’ application.
