PT Code Jawa was an extension of Spotcast Communications Limited principals in mobile media and became Indonesia's largest mobile media company, with 140 employees most of whom were computer programmers. The company was closed in 2011 and I focused on LOBO group, which I had already founded in 2009. Spotcast Communications, Inc. was a company founded around a patent for mobile media advertising and content targeting by profile, time and location on a mobile phone. Spotcast successfully installed its systems with major telcos, including Cegetel in France, Singtel in Singapore, and Smartphone in Hong Kong. The company was funded by KKR and TPG (second stage), but was a "dotcom" casualty in December 2000, and was forced to sell its patent for $5 million. The concept of the business was to build a complex multi-media control and profiling engine allowing telcos to become the personal media providers to all their customers. When it failed, I came to Asia to close down our offices, but instead started PT Code Jawa where I applied the concepts apart from the telcos. PT Code Jawa was much more successful, even though it too was a "gap" technology. Show less

I was recruited by an Australian company named Visatalk moving into the US. This is really where I learned the down and dirt of billing, mobile phone marketing, receivables, and collections. It was BRUTAL. I was recruited by an Australian company named Visatalk moving into the US.
