Completed a 22 month rotational training program within Bosch Rexroth Canada. The objective of the training program was to network with key department managers and understand the flow of material between business units. The benefits of this program allowed me to advance my knowledge in different avenues of professional development that I would not normally have access too. In the first year of the program tasks included supporting warehouse personal and manufacturing on the shop floor. Spending time with product managers in inside sales, expediting with purchasing and logistics. Finally the last year of the program was spent in engineering where I developed demo units focusing on Bosch Rexroth Industry 4.0 software and products.

Worked with Opus Automation project engineers and customers to implement independent automation solutions.-Used AutoDesk Inventor to construct scale versions of Robot Cells. Maintained customer scope by meeting robotic cell requirements. Such requirements included; using as little plant floor space as possible, part loading ergonomics, plant wide standardized parts, implement industrial standard equipment into designs (Keyence, Balluff, FESTO, Schunk, IFM, etc.).-Effectively designed Robot End of Arm tooling, machine guarding (compliant with CSA), buffer conveyors, robot hand off part orientation stations, 90’ long overhead drip tray for track robot, camera stations, part escapements, etc.-Participated in a 90 ft robot cell from design to commissioning. Over the course of 2 months I engineered and designed a gantry to hold drip trays, guarding, and automation equipment within budget. Monitored shop progress on the building of equipment needed for the installation, answered questions the machinists and welders had regarding the drawings and assemblies. Played a vital role during the 2 week install by acting as project coordinator. Problem solved on site to overcome clearance issues, streamlined the installation process, tracked installation progress and balanced jobs between tradesmen.

    • Mechanical Maintenance Co-op Student
      • May 2013 - Aug 2014

Throughout university I had the position of Mechanical Maintenance Co-op Student while at Rassaun Steel. In this position I gained a strong understanding of different welding techniques and the properties of different metals. This hands on position taught me the concepts of fabrication and maintenance in an industrial atmosphere.-Consolidated and reviewed to adjusted field schematics with site supervisor to independently install 2" compressed air lines while being contracted at Apotex Pharmachem Inc. in Brantford ON.-Maintained quality control on imported machined steel, by reading schematics and assuring proper hole, width, length and geometric dimensions. -Improved shop efficiency and manufacturing by creating jigs and patterns for the production of railings, clips, elevator buckets, and slag scrappers.-Used problem solving strategies to install a 10' x 10' steel patch into a 65 ton ladle for U.S Steel Canada.-Gained excellent industrial and construction experience while working in the field at factories and refineries throughout South Western Ontario.-Devoted a strong desire to learn and roll up the sleeves attitude when completing hands on tasks such as sheet metal work, process disassembles and equipment fabrication, assembly and testing.

    • Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student
      • Jan 2014 - Apr 2014

-Worked with engineering department to design and test a machining fixture for new product development. Contacted local machine shops for construction of fixture. Improved design as per machine set-up operators recommendations.-Used AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MS Office on a daily basis to update plant documents, maintain department records and update part drawings.-Consolidated with in house tool room to make sure all work orders were on schedule. Worked with machinists to simplify part design resulting in decreased man-hours on each project.-Supported lean manufacturing by suggesting ideas on how to reduce material waste, man-hours and documentation updating.-Created standardized work instructions, process specifications, lock-out/tag-out placards and operator instructions for various procedures and machines throughout the plant.-Trained line workers in Error Proofing Verification to increase quality control.
