Serving as the minister of Center Church Meriden on a designated term of 3 to 5 years. My unique function within this faith community is to help guide them through a process of discernment, to assess their current ability to adapt to current times, or whether another, less conventional path is necessary. As a front desk associate at Club 24 I am the first point of contact for current members and potential members during my shift. I orient potential members to the various amenities we offer as well as the classes and opportunities to reach their fitness goals. I also set the tone for a positive and welcoming atmosphere, greeting everyone in a positive and energetic manner. I’m also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. My third year field placement found me at FCC of STL. Here I was immersed in the business and pragmatic aspects of church operation. I also led focus groups to help the church better develop its vision and mission during their leadership transition. My third year field placement found me at FCC of STL. In a 3 month unit of Clinical Pastoral Education I was tasked with providing spiritual care to patients and families in the Neurological Intensive Care unit, and two general surgery units. During “on-call” shifts I would primarily attend to trauma patients in the Emergency Department and to actively dying patients in the hospital. During my second year at seminary I was employed as an intern at CCUCC. While there I was very involved in youth ministry, creating a youth program for them and training adult volunteers as group leaders. I was also very involved in the various social justice movements of the church, particularly their immigration justice work. During my second year at seminary I was employed as an intern at CCUCC. During my time as a materials manager I oversaw the work done at 11 home repair mission trip camps. I managed the progress of each work site at each camp (work sites could range from 17 to 47). I also managed a small budget at each camp for purchasing extra materials needed to complete the job. I led a team of volunteers with professional experience who would coach our volunteer workers at each site, assigning sites to these volunteer professionals based on their skill sets. I also oversaw purchasing and delivery/distribution of materials during camp periods. Show less
