  I am excited to share with you our important news starting off the new year. We are delighted to announce that starting January 1, 2020, Metro Climate Services has changed its name to DesignAir of Texas! Over the past 10 years, I have been teaching air conditioning and refrigeration at the local community college. While teaching at the college, I have personally seen the advances in technology that the HVAC industry has been experiencing first-hand. More specifically, the ductless mini-split and variable refrigerant systems that are becoming more and more popular here in the United States. After attending factory training classes on duct free systems, I have learned that today’s technicians need to have a deep understanding of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to install and service these systems. The days of putting gauges on and adding refrigerant are going away. While teaching these new and advanced installation and servicing techniques on these complex systems to students and seasoned HVAC technicians, it became apparent that I needed to use my knowledge in ductless technology and form a business that focuses solely on ductless mini-split systems. Teaching this technology over the years has given me a sound understanding of designing ductfree systems along with the installation and service techniques that these ductless systems require. As an HVAC instructor, a licensed contractor and a certified trainer on ductless mini-split and VRF systems, I personally understand what it takes to get the job done correctly.
