mugshare is a social impact program that provides a safe, reusable alternative to single-use cups through a convenient deposit-return system. It was created by a group of UBC students in 2016 in an effort to shift the norm on single-use waste, without putting the burden of responsibility on individuals. - Proactively reaching out to cafes, restaurants, and other potential partners to onboard them into the mugshare program. - Ensuring the deposit-return system operates seamlessly, managing stock of reusable mugs, and addressing any operational challenges faced by partners. - Designing and implementing outreach strategies to expand mugshare's footprint. - Monitoring the performance of participating cafes and suggesting improvements. - Organizing workshops, seminars, and other events around campus to spread awareness about the perils of single-use waste and the benefits of the mugshare program.
