At Tufts Medical Center, I worked in the Molecular Cardiology Research Center in the lab of Dr. Basak Icli. In this role I served as the main cell culturist for our group, which included expanding, transfecting, and differentiating cell lines, as well as performing cell-based assays. I also routinely performed phenol-chloroform RNA isolation to conduct RT-qPCR. My responsibilities also included scratch, adhesion, and glucose uptake assays. I conducted in vivo experiments on mice, including organ harvest and live cell imaging of the gut. Additionally, I administered glucose tests to mice, conducted husbandry, and monitored weight of mice. I was also the main research assistant responsible for conducting metabolic caging experiments in mice. Show less
