Assisted graduate students with their thesis and dissertation research regarding the bacteria Erwinia amylovora, which causes the tree fruit disease known as Apple Scab, and a fungal disease known as Cherry Leaf Spot, which is caused by Blumeriella jaapii. I collected and maintained fungal samples, testing their resistance to three different fungicides, and contributed to the lab’s national Kasugamycin antibiotic resistance study. Created five Art Encounter educational programs to coincide with gallery exhibits; Art Encounter is a combination of an adult-appropriate self-guided tour pamphlet and children’s craft-making activity that ties in to the artwork on display. Assisted teaching artists with weekly Summer Art Camps and guided art-making activities at local events such as the East Lansing Art Festival and the Ingham County Fair.
