      DeSoto Parish EMS is an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance service that serves nearly 30,000 citizens across 876 square miles in Northwest Louisiana. DeSoto EMS has seven ambulances that operate out of six stations spread throughout the Parish. DeSoto Parish EMS employs 56 EMS professionals, ranging in care levels from and EMT-B to Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP). In 2020, DeSoto EMS responded to nearly 5,000 EMS calls. The Training Officer is responsible for the continued education, credentialing, training, and re-certification of all of the full-time EMS professionals that work for DeSoto Parish EMS.
