  I have been practicing law since 1994 and have extensive litigation experience. My legal career and mentoring began with an AV rated medical malpractice law firm for over 10 years, beginning in law school. I have worked worked as a workers’ compensation defense and civil litigation employment law attorney since 2001, representing several clients, including California Restaurant Mutual Benefit Corporation (CRMBC), CNA Insurance Company, and Zurich Insurance, TPA's such as American Claims Management, Intercare, Sedgwick and Gallagher Bassett. I have worked with major self-insured restaurant chains such as Denny’s, Inc., Sizzler USA, and Jack-in-the-Box as well as other major restaurant chains and multiple individual franchisees. Though I defend all types of employment and workers compensation related cases, I specialize in the defense of restaurant cases. I have a long history of restaurant ownership and I have myself built, owned and operated multiple restaurants, both franchised and non-franchised. I am very familiar with the daily issues which face a restaurant owner. I was the past president and founding member of the Farmer Boys Franchisee Association and have been involved in various aspects of franchisor/franchisee issues and litigation. I regularly consult and represent restaurant franchise owners not just in the area of workers compensation, but also in all other aspects affecting their business, including, but not limited to employment practices (wage/hour, wrongful termination and harassment), business litigation, contract and lease disputes and negotiations as well as other franchise issues.
