Benson was a team facilitator in the University of Melbourne's September 2022 Business Innovation Lab and provided incredible support, guidance and creative encouragement for two teams of students participating in the one day face-to-face program. As the program host I was able to observe Benson’s strong leadership and empathy skills in the way he professionally fulfilled his role to make the program a success. I would highly recommend Benson for future leadership, mentoring and support roles.

Remarque adeptly portrayed the essence of my military life in All Quiet on The Western Front: "At first astonished, then embittered, and finally indifferent, we recognised that what matters is not the mind but the boot brush, not intelligence but the system, not freedom but drill. We became soldiers with eagerness and enthusiasm, but they have done everything to knock that out of us. After three weeks it was no longer incomprehensible to us that a braided postman should have more authority over us than had formerly our parents, our teachers, and the whole gamut of culture from Plato to Goethe. With our young, awakened eyes we saw that the classical conception of the Fatherland held by our teachers resolved itself here into a renunciation of personality such as one would not ask of the meanest servants--salutes, springing to attention, parade-marches, presenting arms, right wheel, left wheel, clicking the heels, insults, and a thousand pettifogging details. We had fancied our task would be different, only to find we were to be trained for heroism as though we were circus-ponies. But we soon accustomed ourselves to it. We learned in fact that some of these things were necessary, but the rest merely show. Soldiers have a fine nose for such distinctions." Show less

A month ago I have returned to Taiwan to complete my military service. While I'm awaiting my military service, I'm excited to share that I've recently started a new position as a research intern at Masterlink Securities Corp.'s Investment Advisory team! I'm grateful for this opportunity to gain experience in the financial industry and work alongside a team of accomplished professionals. During this two month long role, I will be rotating between the equity research and macroeconomics teams. As a research intern, I'm looking forward to honing my analytical and research skills, growing my equity research report writing skills, and contributing to the company's success. I'm confident that the knowledge and experience I gain here will serve me well in my future endeavors. I'm grateful to Masterlink Investment Advisory for giving me this opportunity and for their understanding and support during this transitional period. I'm excited to see where this experience takes me and to share updates on my progress along the way! #researchintern #investmentmanagement #financialanalysis #equityresearch Show less
