I worked within the DCP&P (Division of Child Protection and Permanency) office in Bayville with DCP&P Caseworkers. I gathered, read and synthesized information within case files regarding a particular child’s history with the Division and their experiences with foster care. I wrote 10–15-page documents that outlined their history and experience in detail so they would have an account of what had happened to them, who their birth parents are, and why they were adopted. Dr. John Wilson’s lab focused on social perception, stereotyping and prejudice and the impact on face perception on criminal justice outcomes. I assisted Dr. John Wilson, as a volunteer research assistant, with a meta-analysis project. Early in the process, I searched for and collected articles that relate to how a person’s perceptions of a behavior correlates with an outcome, including factors such as honesty, trustworthiness and aggression. I wrote summaries on the articles I found. I learned more about the process of writing a meta-analysis. Show less
