  Working for Retail IS, PowerGen Plc. (later transferred to UK Services, and PowerGen Plc became E.ON UK Limited). This role involved various low level solution designs and implementations, migration & decomissioning activities and ongoing maintenance tasks, particularly of shared solutions such as the upgrade of E.ON UK's Microsoft Systems Management Server implementation.

  In 1991 CNPC's sister company (a ComputerLand franchise company in Leicester) entered administration which provided an opportunity for me to move into IT contracting. Creating and running my own company named Reportdesign Limited; I gained an initial 3 month engagement at PowerGen via a contracting agency. This contract was then extended on a rolling renewal for a period of over ten years, Here, I specialised in the area of enterprise PC networking implementation and administration with both Novell and Microsoft products. In 2002, PowerGen (through acquisition) became an E.ON group company, and I then took the opportunity to join E.ON UK Ltd as a permanent employee. Show less
