I spent time interning at Somethin' Else at their sunny and bright London pad. I helped with research for BBC radio stations, lent a hand on camera shoots and covered reception every so often. Had a grand old time too! I spent time interning at Somethin' Else at their sunny and bright London pad. Attended an Animation Competition with four others for 7 weeks on a 30 Second Film entitled "The Most Comfortable Place." Intended to raise awareness about the charity DEBRA and the skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa. My role was background design and art direction for the project, which meant heavy use of photoshop. I also animated in after effects. The Competition brought students from across the country who participated to win several awards at the end. Our film won Best 2D Animation, which was awarded in October at the BFX Animation Festival 2017. We worked closely with lecturers at the NCCA as well as industry mentors from leading studios including Framestore, Double Negative, MPC, Aardman, Outpost VFX, Hibbert Ralph Animation, Blue Zoo and Blue Bolt. In collaboration with Paul Cooke from Outside the Line, I created an animation for Shambala Music Festival on the importance of Tent Safety. Paul and I worked together. He provided the script, which I storyboarded and then designed the characters for. Shambala gave us access to their official photos, which I then took and collaged to create a mashed-up assortment of festival goers. I used photoshop experimentally to create the characters, backgrounds, and then used a mix of cut-out photography and photoshop to animate the final piece which was posted on Shambala's facebook page and played at the festival on the main stage in between acts. Challengers is a weekly play group that gives disabled children a chance to make friends, muck around and enjoy themselves. I was part of a team that supervised and looked after the kids, engaging them with creative activities and supporting their needs. In 2007, when I was aged 9, I began illustrating for children's writer Sarah Lucas and her company, madaboutsnailbooks. Since then, there have been 4 books released all of which I illustrated, and the last one came out in 2012. The books are: Snail Trail, Snails Don't Burp!, Snail Park and Slime in Time.
