Aline is awesome. She joined Udacity for only a brief time, but had great impact (and continues as a friend of the company). I am most impressed with how Aline approaches hiring like product development and through this added some much needed rigor to my team's hiring processes, helping us more clearly define our spec (job descriptions), narrow in on our target audience (potential candidates), and sell our team and our mission (market position) better than anyone.

Aline arrived when we were still pretty small and she helped form the work culture that still endures today. As an engineer she was a real pleasure to work with -- she could dive into any problem, work hard, and still keep a sense of humor. During her time with ClickTime she became our "secret weapon" for recruiting, assisting in the hiring of people both above and below her on the org chart. She was a huge asset at job fair events and a terrific judge of technical skill and cultural fit. Before she left, she convinced me to hire one engineer (over my own objections) who has become a vital member of our team. She's got a real eye for talent.
