MYsocial is Age UK Lambeth's social membership service that seeks to reduce social isolation and loneliness. During the pandemic their usual calendar of live events and local meet-ups had to stop. As the Digital Event Coordintor I built an online events programme via Zoom and hosted a Digital Festival on Facebook Live. This gave MYsocial members the opportunity to stay connected whilst isolating. I also taught less digital savvy members how to use Zoom so they could join our digital events. It was an incredibly rewarding job. "MYsocial hurriedly hired Alex at the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic as our online events coordinator, as we could no longer hold live events. As an organisation whose purpose is to reduce loneliness and isolation, it was crucial we could still engage with our members during this frightening, unprecedented time.
