Led the company's during its Chapter 11 filing and emergence 6 months after initial filing. Negotiated a workout of $90 million portfolio financing with principal creditor on financially advantageous terms Paid vendors and other creditors 100% of their claim. Negotiated a settlement with the State of Illinois under their renewable energy support program reducing obligation from $60 million to $5 million. Identified a lender and negotiated exit financing of $100 million. Created $10 million equity value for US Energy Systems from initial insolvency when company entered bankruptcy. Negotiated and executed one of the first carbon credit trades in the US. One of two primary operating subsidiaries of US Energy Sytems, Inc. I succesfully led the subsidiary through a restructuring through a Chapter 11 federal bankruptcy. I was involved in all aspects of executing the restructurturing and managing the subsidiary. I arranged payoff of the existing debt without prepayment penalties, settled a $60 million dispute with the State of Illinois for $5 million and arranged a $90 million exit financing The subsidiary successfully emerged from Chapter 11 in 6 months resulting in the recognition of approximatelhy $10 million of book equity.
