I spent 14 months employed as a part 1 architectural assistant in the Weybridge office of the international architecture practice Broadway Malyan. During this time I was involved in a range of projects however I was predominantly focused upon large scale mixed use residential developments in Hendon, Fulham and Bournemouth. I worked within a dedicated design team of six individuals to bring these large projects from the concept stage through to detailed planning approval and beyond.My workload was diverse however my key roles included the planning of large housing projects, researching and selecting appropriate materials and suppliers, generating visual representations of working designs, composing design and access statements and planning documents and communicating with consultants to help drive the project forward.

I was employed at Devereux's London office for 5 weeks as a design assistant. Here I was involved with the healthcare team and worked on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital project located in Stanmore.I was primarily tasked with visualization and CAD support: creating site and concept analysis diagrams to explain key ideas to the client; in addition to developing plans and sections for the contractors and planners. During my time at this firm I also assisted with volume calculations for cut/fill exercises, large format printing, preparing presentation material and maintaining accurate project records.
