I was introduced to the owner through a friend. After one phone conversation, the owner determined I possessed enough IT knowledge to excel in this line of work. Most of the work consisted of teaming up with a moving company to ensure user PCs for companies such as LPL Financial and Windstream were transported and set back up safely, efficiently, and appropriately between floors or new office buildings. One of my dreams has been to try my hand at bartending but I started here as a host. Opportunity to achieve this dream struck when two of the three bartenders quit. I overheard my manager talking about replacements, so I threw my name into the pit and explained that it had always been a dream of mine. Since I proved my work ethic directly under her as a host, she agreed to give me a trial. Peak season started in two weeks and I had to prove myself by then. The lead bartender trained me on the fly and I cemented my position in three days. It was everything I hoped it would be. I developed my palette and how to describe and craft beverages with such eloquence that every guest showered us with praise.
